Film Queenstown Lakes is the in-house film office of Queenstown Lakes District Council and is the go-to for advice and filming in the region, including film permits, location access.
For sourcing local crew, equipment, suppliers and filming in the wider Otago and Southland region head to Film Otago Southland.
Bunker Street Studios is a film and photography studio available for hire, located in the town centre of Wānaka. Its purpose is to provide a functional studio space that creatives in the region can treat as their own.
Since 2022 Lāke Wānaka Tourism has partnered with lifestyle media house Monster Children Group on an inaugural short film award, with the winner receiving a $NZD10,000 prize package, products from Sony, plus production to create their short film on location in Wānaka, New Zealand.
